What is a cookie
A cookie is a small piece of data your browser stores so a website can remember you between visits. localStorage works similarly but lives entirely in your browser, never sent to a server. This policy covers both.
Categories we use
You can manage every non-essential category from cookie settings at any time. Choices are versioned — if we materially change this policy, we'll ask again.
- Strictly necessary — always on. Needed for the app to work; no consent required under GDPR.
Examples: Supabase auth session, CSRF token, consent record itself. - Preferences — optional, default off. If you opt in, remembers your theme, language, and country between visits.
Examples: theme, language, country. - Analytics — optional, default off. We don't run analytics today. This category is reserved so your choice carries forward if we ever add a privacy-preserving, aggregated tool. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no cross-site tracking.
Examples: none currently.
Third parties
The directory's map view uses Leaflet with tiles served by OpenStreetMap. Tile requests reveal your IP address to OpenStreetMap to serve the map — they do not set tracking cookies, but their privacy policy applies. If you'd rather avoid that, use the list view for the same data.
The /login page embeds a GIF hosted by Klipy. Loading that embed may cause Klipy to set their own cookies on your device under their own privacy policy — we don't control those.
Infrastructure
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and uses Supabase for auth and database. They receive standard request data (IP address, browser type) to serve the page and authenticate you. Neither uses that data for advertising or cross-site tracking.
How long choices are stored
Your consent choice is stored locally in your browser as a versioned record for up to 12 months, then we ask again. Essential session cookies last as long as your login session. Clearing your browser storage resets everything and re-triggers the consent prompt on next visit.
Your controls
The easiest way to change your choices is — same panel that appears on first visit. You can also reach it from the footer.
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it: open the panel, toggle off, save.
You can also clear cookies and localStorage from your browser's settings at any time — that signs you out, resets your preferences, and re-triggers the consent prompt.
Changes to this policy
If we change which categories we use or add new third parties, we'll update this page and re-prompt for consent where it's legally required. The 'last updated' date at the top always reflects the current version.
